Welcome to Troop 714, Rio Rancho's oldest Boy Scout troop! Established 1976.

Soaring With Eagles

Troop 714 is sponsored by Rio Rancho Elks Lodge #2500. We are proud to be associated with them and thank them for their support.

We meet on Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM at 1530 Barbara Loop SE in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Please use the "Contact Us" link if you would like to arrange a visit with our Boy Scout troop.

Boy Scouting is for boys who are 11, or are at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award, through 17 years old. Boys experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Camping, fun with friends -- and more. It’s the adventure of a lifetime.  (For information on Cub Scout Packs, whichare for boys age 7-10 or grades 1-5, please contact the local BSA district office at 345-8603)

Sunday is Funday

Posted on Jul 14 2014 - 7:28am

The Rio Rancho Mayor's Picnic, also known as Sunday is Funday, will be held at Rio Rancho High School on Sunday August 17th.

This is an important event for our Troop, both fundraising wise and public exposure.

Camp Emerald Bay

Posted on Jul 7 2014 - 10:47am

Well we have all made it back alive and well. A little sun burned maybe ;-)

We have a large number of photos to share (I personally have over 1500) and are looking for the best way to do that where everyone in our troop can view them safely and securly. If you have any ideas, please bring them to our next Troop Meeting.

Gorham Shake Down

Posted on Jun 1 2014 - 8:04pm

There  will be a gear shake down for all those scouts attending Gorham this Tuesday.

Medical Forms

Posted on Jun 1 2014 - 8:01pm

Please keep a copy of your Scout's medical form. Use the 2014 edition. Forms are due May 27th.  Parts A and B are required for all. Summer camp, NYLT, OA, and camporees require Part C signed by a licensed practitioner. If you would please make a copy plus the origininal to submit, it would save ASM Brennan a ton of time and expense. THANKS!! We keep the original local. A copy goes with the troop for all activities. For summer camp we have to have a third set that may or maynot be returned depend on the camp's policy. They may have to be stored for a number of years and then destroyed. Other camps hand them back to us. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

Register or Regret

Posted on May 18 2014 - 9:12pm

Parents and Scouts, please check the website and register or regret for activities. Thank you. We have only a couple more seats available to go camping this coming weekend unless another adult comes along.

Gear Discounts

Posted on May 12 2014 - 10:02am

A seasoned Scoutmaster passed on the website  scoutdirect.com that offers HUGE discounts for scouts. Do your own research and determine if this will work for you. Do not try to ask for price matching at retailers.
